MORE SPECTACULAR DISCOVERIES IN THE VALLEY OF THE KINGS – after the Discovery of the Tomb of Tutankhamun by Howard Carter in 1922
After the final clearance of the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1930 there was the general opinion that the Valley of the Kings was completely exhausted, not anymore containing further treasures or tombs. For quite a long time no archaeological investigations took place until the late 1970. From 1990 onwards several excavations were conducted in the Valley of the Kings revealing spectacular results including new tombs, clear traces of the workmen who built the royal tombs, the identification of the owners of undecorated tombs, as well as a text, in which a further not yet localised tomb of a woman is mentioned.
